New urban district coordination offices “Stadtteilkoordinationen” in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg
Since March 2025, there are four urban district coordinators in the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district. Emine Yilmaz and Cristina Samper are there for you in the Kreuzberg district, and Stefanie Richter and Miriam Sperlich are there for you in the Friedrichshain district. As urban district coordinators “Stadtteilkoordinatorinnen”, we represent one of the four pillars of social space-oriented action “sozialraumorientierten Handelns” in Berlin’s districts. This strategy is conceptually anchored in the Handbook on Social Space Orientation “Handbuch zur Sozialraumorientierung”, which the Berlin Senate adopted in 2009 as part of its framework strategy for social urban development.

What do the urban district coordinators „Stadtteilkoordinatorinnen“ do?
Our task is to act as an interface between the social spaces “Sozialräumen” and the district administration „Bezirksverwaltung“, supporting neighborhood engagement, improving communication between the urban districts (Prognoseraume) and the district administration. For example, by identifying and communicating key needs in the districts. To this end, we work closely with the district administration „Bezirksverwaltung“, specifically with the social space-oriented planning coordination team „Sozialraumorientierten Planungskoordination„. In this way, we build long-term structures for exchange and cooperation in our bridging function between our urban districts, the district administration, local actors, and residents, and work on the further development of a needs-based service structure. We are well connected in our neighborhood „Stadtteil“ and are available for all residents, initiatives, and institutions. We are open to all issues that affect our neighborhood.
How can we support you?
We are neutral contacts for finding support and financing opportunities for your projects, such as FEIN funds „FEIN-Mittel„, as well as for questions about district developments and your issues. In order to provide concrete support for neighborhood projects by neighbors for neighbors, we manage the urban district fund “Stadtteilkasse” and accompany the associated residents’ jury made up of volunteers from our districts. Committed neighbors and initiatives from the urban district (Prognoseräume) can apply for financial support from the district fund “Stadtteilkasse”, making it easier for them to implement their projects and ideas. We support you from the very beginning when applying for funds from the district fund “Stadtteilkasse”.
Our offices are located in the heart of the urban districts “Prognoseräume”. You are welcome to make an appointment, come by during our office hours, or drop by spontaneously for a chat!
Do you have any questions or would you simply like to get to know us? Great! Feel free to contact us!
